It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Don Mathis of Centerville, Tennessee, who passed away on February 22, 2026, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Mathis and Elsie Williams Mathis; and his siblings, Terry Mathis and Hope McFarlin. He is survived by: his wife Irene Warren Mathis; his children, Tammy Shaw of Bon Aqua, Tennessee, Tina Caldwell of Medina, Tennessee and Greg Mathis (Sonja) of Meridianville, Alabama.; his sisters, Joy Hutchison of Centerville, Tennessee, Sharon Armstrong of Duck River, Tennessee and Patti Edwards of Centerville, Tennessee.; and his grandchildren, LeAnn Brunner of Bon Aqua, Tennessee, Amanda Stapler of Waverly, Tennessee, Ashley Caldwell of Medina, Tennessee, Becky Henry of Medina, Tennessee, Anna Shockley of Huntsville, Alabama and Andrew Mathis of Franklin. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
