He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Tom and Lola Mae Murray Gilbert; and his siblings, Fredia Bennett, Conrad "Pete" Gilbert, Gerald Gilbert, Jimmie Gilbert and Walter Gilbert.
He is survived by: his wife Myra Janice Buckingham Gilbert; his daughters, Wendy Qualls (Bob), Jessica Barnett (Bryan) and Tina Pulley; and his siblings, Ann McNabb Bryant, Shirley Mayberry, Linda Halbrooks, John Gilbert, Bobby Gilbert, Leon Gilbert, Samuel Gilbert, Ronnie Gilbert, Larry Gilbert and Dwayne Gilbert. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home, Inc. - Hickman County (102 West End Ave, Centerville, TN 37033). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
