He was predeceased by : his parents, George Alfa Franklin and Myrtle Ethel Turner Franklin; his wife Bessie Lenore Brackeen Franklin; and his son James Steven Franklin. He is survived by : his daughter Karen L. Johnston of Nashville, TN; his grandchildren, Michelle Garcia (Gregory), Moriah Garland and Jo Zeferino; and his great grandchildren, Christian Wade, Lance Garcia, Evan Garcia, Jonah Garland and Noelia Zeferino.
