She was predeceased by: her parents, Elvis A Capps and Ila Mai Smith Capps; her grandchildren, Brian Christopher Owen and Julie Ann Owen; and her siblings, Lester Capps and Willie Mai White.
She is survived by: her husband Earl Yates; her children, Cheryl Owen and Mark Yates; and her grandchildren, Michelle Peach (Trevor) and Johnathon Yates (Cindy). She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.
