He was predeceased by: his parents, Hollis Hooper Smith and Clayte Souix Bradford Smith; his wife Linda Fay Smith; his siblings, Baby Boy Smith, Delbert Smith, Douglas Smith, Audrey Yates, Alma-Jean Lewis and Ima Jean Couch; and his grandson Allan Ferguson.
He is survived by: his sons, Samuel H. Smith II, Kenneth H. Smith, John B. Smith (Mary Ellen) and William M. Smith; his grandchildren, Hunter Smith, Tara O'Guin, Demetria Tenefoss, Alec Smith, Emma Nordan, Lilly Smith and Olivia Smith; and his great grandchildren, Daxton O'Guin, Alana Smith and Azrael Smith. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A proud 32nd Degree Mason and recipient of the KCCH (Knight Commander of the Court of Honor) Degree, Judge Smith exemplified the values of integrity, charity, and service throughout his life.
