He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Vines and Vera Vines (Vaughn); his grandson Christopher Gerald Vines; and his siblings, Joe Vines, Mona Vines Thompson and Robbie Vines.

He is survived by: his wife Mitzi Vines of Charlotte, TN.; his children, Victor Gerald Vines (Jennifer) of Newellton, LA and Rebecca Vines (Amber) of Charlotte, TN.; his sister Tammy Procell (David) of Joyce; and his grandchildren, David Vines, Cassie Parker (Brian), Joseph Vines (Dee), Shauni Lytle (Rick) and Alyssa Vines12.
