He is survived by: his wife Maxine Ashley; his children, Mike Ashley, Tim Ashley (Teresa Ashley) and Patti Ashley Peters (John Peters IV); his siblings, Charles Ashley, Ola Knight, Marie Peardon, Joann Kelley and Kathleen Nichols; his grandchildren, Andy Peters (Hannah Peters), Lee Peters, Matthew Ashley, Hannah Wooten (Chris Wooten) and Shannon Tate (late David Tate); and his great grandchildren, Lanie Peters, Lawson Peters, Linden Peters, Lucas Tate, Hudson Wooten, Conner Wooten, Charlie Ashley and Learah Peters. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
