He was predeceased by: his wife Ellen A. "Bunny" McVey; his daughter Kerry E. McVey; his brother Francis X. McVey; his granddaughter Megan A. McVey; and his niece Jane Marie Kline.
He is survived by: his parents, Albert McVey and Mary Hickey McVey; his sons, Thomas M. McVey, Christopher K. McVey (Karen) and Daniel P. McVey; his sisters, Jane Blome, Marie Santosusso and Christine Sakers; his sister-in-law Joyce McVey; his grandchildren, Morgan, Ryan, Nathaniel, Colin and Madison; his great grandchildren, Charlotte and Maisie; and his nieces and nephews, Francis, Michael, Matthew McVey, Jennifer McHale, Kathy Wilson, Christina Dydzyk, Wendi Loggins and Kathy Turner. He is also survived by many extended family members, friends, former players, parents.
