We announce the death of Annita Hicks of Chattanooga, Tennessee, who passed away on June 1, 2026, at the age of 84. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert McBryar and Carrie McBryar; her husband Paul Norman Hicks; her daughter Deborah Ann Horton; her stepdaughter Pamela Ann Ryan; and her siblings, Juanita McBryar, Andrew McBryar, L. A. McBryar, Homer McBryar, Roy McBryar and Benny Ray McBryar (Janet) of Chattanooga.

She is survived by: her son Jimmy Ray Horton of Chattanooga; her stepdaughter Kayla Jayn Askew (Kyle) of Ooltewah; her grandchildren, Corey Ryan (April), Matthew Askew (Stephanie), Noah Ryan (Michelle), Meghan Appleberry, Jordan Ryan (Jenna), Morgan Askew and Joshua Ray Horton; her siblings, Elfrida Rosenbaum (Gary) of Harrison and Clyde McBryar of Chattanooga; and her sister-in-law Susan McBryar. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
