In loving memory of Carol Stephenson (Chattanooga, Tennessee), who departed this world on July 11, 2025 at the age of 88. Carol leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Carol departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Carol. Though Carol may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Keese and Maude Keese; and her sisters, Jane Ragland and Nancy Sims. She is survived by: her husband Jack R. Stephenson; and her children, J. Riggs Stephenson III (Carol), Jeannie Henry (David) and Ila Pokela (Dave). She is also survived by spouses; and thirteen cherished great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church (612 James Blvd, Signal Mountain, TN 37377). A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol Stephenson's memory to Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church, Hearth Hospice of Chattanooga or Signal Mountain Social Services.
