He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Joseph "Joe" Arnold and Mary Gray Runions Arnold; his parent Joyce Arnold Fleming; his aunt Jackie Arnold Fitzgerald; his uncles, Jim "Jimmy" Arnold and Neal Wray; his mother-in-law Emma Jean Via; and his brother-in-law Roger Wayne Via.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Mae Via David; his daughter Kristin Ownby (Chris); his granddaughters, Kendall and Lily; his sisters, Joy Via Scott (Donnie) and Karen Via Langley; his uncle Dean Fitzgerald; his cousins, Mark Fitzgerald (Katrina), Kasey Fitzgerald and Linda Gail Luallen Maddox (Jyll); and his nieces and nephews, Brett, Chad, Mitchell, Dylan, Lisa and Tracy.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the Christ United Methodist Church (8645 E Brainerd Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37421). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Chattanooga National Cemetery (1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404).
