He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Eugene and Beatrice Garner; his wife Johnnye Ruth Partin; and his siblings, Loyce Arlen Garner, Neal Garner, Mary Frances Prophater and Edna Mae Scarborough.
He is survived by: his son James Wesley Garner Jr.; his grandchildren, Abigail Patterson (Randy) of Lexington, KY and Pearson Neal Garner of Lexington, KY; his siblings-in-law, Gayle Keown and Bruce Keown; and his nieces and nephews, Gene Prophater, David Prophater, Marsha Boehm, Sam Garner, Bill Garner, Mark Keown and Grant Keown.
