As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Jim may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his wife Penny Bowman; and his parents, James Bowman and Margie Bowman Sr.. He is survived by: his daughters, Jimmie Johnson (Robby) and Margie "Misty" Phillips (Tim); his stepchildren, Anita Patton (Carl), Jananda Smith (Clint), Buddy Kitchings (Nicole) and Kenny Franklin (Cathy); and his close friend Joyce Coulter. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lane Funeral Home Coulter Chapel (601 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, TN 37415). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
