She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Thieman and Dorothy Rose Thieman; and her husband John Kane Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Elizabeth "Liz" Wylie (Douglas), John Kane Jr. and Patrick Kane (Tatiana); her siblings, Christy Smolen and Lloyd Thieman (Madeline); and her granddaughter Vivian Wylie. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. John Fisher Church (10235 S Fairfield Ave, Chicago, IL 60655).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in her memory to the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation or PAWS Chicago, two organizations that honor causes meaningful to her.
