She was predeceased by: her parents, Rene Carlson and Hilda Carlson; her husband Stanley Eugene "Gene" Cox; her daughter Melissa Cox; her granddaughter Tamara Norton; and her sister Marjorie Carver.
She is survived by: her daughters, Melanie Salvaggio (Ken Meyers) of Northglenn and Michelle Bumgardner (Scott) of Harrison, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Jonathan Norton (Jessica), Lucinda Salvaggio (Kyle Paul), Alessandra Salvaggio and Ethan Adkins; her great grandchildren, Isaiah Moore, Isaac Moore, Noah Moore and Claire Goldberg; and her brother Richard Carlson (Terry) of Chattanooga. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A committal service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Chattanooga National Cemetery (1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church (2800 McCallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404).
