He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Herndon and Betty Jean Herndon; his grandparents, Bob, Lucille Herndon, Ira and Velma Baker; his sister-in-law Margie Herndon; his nephew Weston Cole; and his nephew-in-law Jason White.

He is survived by: his wife Sandi; his daughters, Lindsey and Madison; his siblings, Lynn Badgett (Richard), Martha Riggs (Greg), Mary Pugh (Joe), Carol Cole (Todd) and Bob Herndon; his parents-in-law, Jamie McGuire (Bill) and Martin Clark (Glenda); his sister-in-law Andrea Lockerby (Teddy); his uncle Bill Baker; and his nieces and nephews, Carrie Beasley (Brian), Amanda Badgett, Ashley Rogers (Jon), Lauren White, Rebecca Cripps (John), Jon Badgett (Lori), Bradley Pugh (Verna), Clint Riggs (Kristin), Mitchell Cole (Rachel), Hunter Herndon (Nicola), Clark Lockerby (Jenna Cate) and Camden Lockerby. He is also survived by 19 great-nieces and nephews.
