She was predeceased by: her husband Myron L. Hughes; her parents, Elmore Davis and Willie Mae Davis; and her siblings, W. T. Davis, Robert Davis (Bob), Louis Davis, Nancy Sylar and Helen Hines.

She is survived by: her children, Lynda Hughes Hendrickson, Reid Hughes (Christy) and Jill Hughes Hudson (Cliff); and her grandchildren, Lori Hendrickson, Paul Hendrickson, Erika Collins, Jonathan Hendrickson, Madison Hughes and Lauren Hughes. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1505 North Moore Road, Chattanooga.
