Melanie Gibbs Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melanie Gibbs of Chattanooga, Tennessee, who passed away on August 11, 2025 at the age of 62. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Melanie leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Melanie may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, William Parks Dobbs, Jr. and Diane Matthews Dobbs; her grandparents, William Parks Dobbs, Sr., Alma Peterson Dobbs, James Wade Matthews and Geraldine Adams Matthews; her son Daniel Dobbs (Diane); and her sisters, Moira Smith (Will) and Dauna Higney (Bill). She was also cherished by grandchildren; several cherished nieces and nephews.

At the end of her earthly journey, Melanie provided the gift of continued life through organ and tissue donation.
