He was predeceased by: his parents, Aubra C. Adkins and Elsie Adkins; and his brother Harry Adkins. He is survived by: his wife Katie Adkins; his daughter Carlie Mahaffey (Michael); his granddaughter Amelia Mahaffey; his sister Brenda Newkirk; and his adoptive son Michael Lee Emerson.
