He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Johnson and Crether North Johnson; and his sisters, Elisa Ann Johnson, Margaret Johnson and Regina Johnson.

He is survived by: his siblings, Beatrice Simpson, Idella Johnson, Bobbie Sue Jones, Charlotte, Pamela Johnson and Calvin Johnson; his niece Kimmika Austin; and his close friend Beverly Blevins. He is also survived by other relatives, and friends.
