He is survived by: his significant other Pamela Jones; his mother Linda Lusk; his children, Michael Penland (Holly), Halley Penland, Courtney Penland and Morgan Penland; his brothers, Glenn Michael Penland and Travis Lyn Penland; his granddaughter Madelyn Penland; and his close friend Dennis Waters. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
