She was predeceased by : her parents, John Houston Mays and Margaret Newman Mays; her husband Joseph Paul Faulkner; her daughter Madeline Jo Ellis; and her brother John Houston Mays, Jr..

She is survived by : her daughter Margaret Faulkner Long (Ron) of Ooltewah, TN.; her grandchildren, Kimberly L. Baucom (Brad), William R. Long, Jr. (Mandy), Tamara Jo Ellis and Justin Joe Ellis (Mara); and her great grandchildren, Jocelyn Baucom, Brady Long, Jack Long, Cameron Baucom, Harper Reeves, Maddie Ellis and Shep Ellis.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Brainerd Hills Baptist Church (6611 E Brainerd Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37421). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
