He is survived by: his wife Mary Roberts; his daughter Cindy Hackler (Tom); his grandchildren, Chandler Hankins and Rhett Hackler (Lauren); and his great grandchild Cayden Smeltzer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Both honors were in recognition of accomplishments and contributions to the sports of baseball and softball.
