We announce the death of Shirley D. Beard in Chattanooga, Tennessee, who passed away on October 29, 2026, at the age of 91. She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl C. Dunivan and Alma Hill Dunivan; her husband Valton Lee Beard; her son Ricky L. Beard; and her brother James'Buddy'Dunivan.
She is survived by: her children, Vicki Steele (Jack) of Hixson, TN, Lee Beard of Howell, TN and Wanda Hammonds (Steve); her grandchildren, Seth Steele (Gina) of Soddy, TN, Chelsey Steele Dunivan (Kris) of Aloha, OR, Samantha Ciaccio (Ryan Herbig) of Pecatonica, IL, Chasidy Richardson of Moulton, AL, Kayla Sledge (James) of Fayetteville, TN and Valton Beard of Howell, TN; and her sister-in-law Peggy R. Dunivan. She is also survived by grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home (508 College St W, Fayetteville, TN 37334). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
