He is survived by : his wife Martha Joan Phillips Carter; his sons, Brian Carter (Bridget) of Nolensville, TN, Glen Carter (Lindsey) of Chattanooga, TN and Jeffery Carter (Allison) of Nolensville, TN.; his grandchildren, Brilynn, Eli, Colton, Madison, Kylie, Makena, Ripken, Wrigley Carter, Audrey and Parker Kinard; his great grandchild Brooks Taylor; and his sister Janice G. Love of Muskegon, Michigan. He is also survived by 3 nieces, a nephew, and many cousins.
