He was predeceased by: his parents, W. Carl Dixon, Sr. and Mary Lutz Dixon; his brother Rev. Robert E. Dixon of Dallas, TX; and his son-in-law J. L. "Bobby" Armstrong of Decatur, TN.. He is survived by: his wife Sybil Taylor Dixon; his children, William Carl Dixon III (Gayle), Robert Taylor Dixon (Susan) and Karen D. Armstrong; his grandchildren, Tori Hall (Brandon), Mandy Emery, Zachary Dixon (Haley) and Bill Dixon (Amber); and his great grandchildren, Briggs Hall, Olivia Hall, Will Dixon, Thomas Dixon, Lucas Dixon, Aubrey Emery and Greyson Emery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Ridgedale Baptist Church (Benevolent Fund), the Cancer Society, or the Alzheimer's Association.
