He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester P. Smith and Elsma Smith; and his son Richie Smith. He is survived by: his wife Hazel Wilburn Smith; his son Tim Smith; his grandchildren, Rachel Nollman and Justin Smith; and his siblings, W. H. Smith, Angeline Walker Green and Fredalyn Reeves. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Lindsey's memory to Fellowship United Methodist Church located at 2511 New Salem Hwy, Murfreesboro, TN 37128.
