He was predeceased by: his wife Peggy Foshee Thornburg; and his parents, Fred Thornburg and Mary Kate Thornburg. He is survived by: his children, Kevin Thornburg (Jannifer), Alan Thornburg, Steven Thornburg and Lisa Hobbs (Mike); his grandchildren, Jana Thornburg, Kendra Giangrande (Roger), Olivia Thornburg, Abby Trusler (Dylan), Emily Hobbs, Ivy Thornburg and Riley Hobbs; his great grandchildren, Amiyah Turner, Ezra Trusler, Saylor Giangrande, Chloe Grace Trusler and Emma Jo Trusler; and his siblings-in-law, Diane Pierce (Fred), Kyle Foshee, Don Foshee (Carol) and Lynn Foshee. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home (1125 Tusculum Blvd, Greeneville, TN 37745). A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 6th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
