He is survived by: his children, Ron Armstrong (Michelle Houston), Russ Armstrong (Karen Armstrong), Virginia (Mike Jaynes), Roger Armstrong of Johnson City and Don Armstrong (Wendi Armstrong); his close friend Shirley Terry of Chuckey; and his siblings, Alvin Armstrong of Jay, Oklahoma, Jim Armstrong (Elaine Armstrong), Retha Johnsen (Greg Johnsen) and Mary Maeder. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service (208 N College St, Greeneville, TN 37745). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Sunday, September 28th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Carter's Station Cemetery (965 Albany Rd, Greeneville, TN 37743).
