He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Skelton and Tessie Skelton; his sister Geraldine; and his brothers-in-law, Newt W. Hurd and Donnie Davis of Knoxville.
He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Skelton; his sisters, Katie Davis of Knoxville, TN and Debbie Phipps (John Brooks) of Church Hill, TN; his siblings' children, Sheri Stewardson (Jeff) of Knoxville, Gerald Hurd (Aimee) and Randy Hurd; and his great-nephews, Colby Hurd, Avery Hurd (MaKayla) and Grayson Hurd.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Johnson - Arrowood Funeral Home (320 Grandview St, Church Hill, TN 37642). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 at 2:45 PM at the Elm Springs Cemetery (1530 Old Union Rd, Church Hill, TN 37642).
