He was predeceased by: his wife Marilyn Haley Blount; and his parents, Bryan Whitfield Blount Jr. and Jane Marie Gregory Blount. He is survived by: his daughter Ann Toliver (Gary) of Madison, TN; his stepchildren, Carolyn V. Gault of Syracuse, NY, Anita Gault Moriarty of Elkton, Alisa Gault Walsh (Terry) of Elkton, William L. "Billy" Gault III (Ann) of Raceland, KY and Burt Gault (Vivian) of Bowling Green, KY; and his sister Jane Blount Michler of Lexington, KY. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Mr. Blount served on numerous boards including, Hopkinsville Community College, Hopkinsville Community College Foundation, Todd County Aging Council, Todd County Industrial Foundation, and Blount Rural Health Clinic.
