Charles Stokes Obituary

It is with sadness that the passing of Charles Stokes of Clarksville, Tennessee is shared. Charles, born on January 9, 1938, passed away on September 24, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Charles Stokes to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his wife Betsy "Corene" Stokes; his son Charles Keith Stokes; his parents, Nelson Stokes and Reathy Stokes; his brother Ernie Stokes; and his grandson Darrell R. Willis Stokes.

He is survived by: his children, Ricky Stokes (Kathi), Diana Hampton (Cal), Donna Edmundson (Lee), Karen Stokes (Michelle Wyatt), Peggy Landrum (Paul), Steve Dodd (Dianne) and Jerry W. Dodd; his siblings, Calvin Stokes and Ethel Tierney; and his close friends, Jackie Wallace and Bruce McGaha. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A celebration of life was held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the 2nd Mile Baptist Church (804 S Riverside Dr, Clarksville, TN 37040).
