He is survived by: his wife Maybelle Welch Carpenter; his children, Mike Carpenter and Cindy Knight (Raymond); his sisters, Frances Sumner (Bob) and Florence Fletcher (Mike); his grandchildren, Casey Morgan (Billy), Amy Sams (Ben), Sam Knight, Ashley Carpenter and Teri Traylor; his great grandchildren, Hallie Morgan, Keaton Morgan, Parker Morgan, Avah Sams, Lylah Sams and Reagan Carpenter; and his great great grandchild Ensley.
