He was predeceased by: his parents, Hershel Batten and Ida Elizabeth Batten (Cato); his wife Edith "Earlene" Batten; his siblings, Adon Batten, Clyde Batten, Kenneth Batten, Ronald Batten, Edwin Batten and Jean Batten; his stepdaughter Aniata Lynch (Kathy); and his granddaughter Megan Peterson (Batten).
He is survived by: his sons, Marcus Batten (Jean) of Paragould Arkansas, Michael Batten (Bridgette) of Paragould Arkansas and Steve Batten (Denise) of Clarksville, TN; his stepson James Gammons (Lori) of Fairview, TN; and his brother Denny Batten (Janice).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Nave Funeral Home (4639 W Main St, Erin, TN 37061). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 3rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home (4639 W Main St, Erin, TN 37061).
