He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John James and Louisa Drane Rodriguez Conroy; his wife Emily; his sister Louisa Hadley; his children, Emily McClure (Reid Poland), John James (Michelle Seyller Conroy), Richard Boone (Lois Goad Conroy), Paul (Sandra Sullivan Conroy) and Louisa Conroy (Steven Dial); his grandchildren, Hugh, John Conroy, William McClure Poland, Chloe, John Daniel, Emma, Richard Goad, Thomas Boone, Patrick, Joseph, Thomas Sullivan and Margaret Emily Conroy; his stepgranddaughter Sarah Ngernwathana; his great grandchildren, Autumn and Everlee Morgan; his pet Samson; his niece Susan; his brother-in-law Don Denton; and his friends, Randy and Cindy Wade. He was also cherished by in-laws and nephews and nieces.

He peacefully departed on January 7, 2022, after bravely resisting Parkinson's Disease as long as his body would let him, thankfully keeping his sharp intellect and wit.
