He was predeceased by: his daughter Carmen Long; his parents, Don Long and Gayle Long; and his grandparents, Lois Phillips, Rue and Minnie Long.

He is survived by: his wife Debbie Segar Long; his daughter Brittni Rodriguez (Javier); his stepsons, Danny Palmer, Jason Palmer (Donna), David Palmer and Jonathan Palmer; his grandchildren, Alis, Alexia and Eliana Rodriguez; his stepgrandchildren, Krista, Chase, Carter, Gracy, Daemon, Christiana and David Jr. Palmer; and his siblings, DeLane Long (Leigh Ann), Dacen Long (Stacy) and Danitra Wallace (Nathan). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Companion Funeral & Cremation Service - Ridge Sanctuary (2412 Georgetown Rd NW, Cleveland, TN 37311). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Companion Funeral & Cremation Service (2412 Georgetown Rd NW, Cleveland, TN 37311).
