He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Vernon and Virginia Vernon; his grandparents, Julia and Art Headrick; his brothers, Larry Vernon and Richard Vernon; and his brother-in-law Bobby Lewis Ogle.
He is survived by: his daughters, Vanessa Short (Jason) and Shanna Howard; his siblings, Sandra Kay Ogle and Kenneth Fred Vernon (Patti); and his grandchildren, Addison Short, Conner Short and Colton Hobbs. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
