She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Wesley Trotter and Chassie Mabell Wooden Trotter; her husband Onless Avans; her son Onless Dewitt Avans; and her sisters, Georgetta Black and Zelma Holt.
She is survived by: her daughters, Marlene (James Huff) and Angela (James Lockhart); her siblings, Wesley (Betty Trotter) and Geneva Brewer; her grandchildren, Tisha Myers, Andrea Thomas and Heather Payne; and her great grandchildren, Ethan Myers, Cameron Myers, Brady Thomas, Aiden Thomas and David Payne. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
