He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Elmer Holmes and Ivy Ray Terry Holmes; his siblings, Walter Holmes, Jesse Ray Holmes and Janet Evans; and his sons, Randy Holmes and Dennis Holmes.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Helen Sliger Holmes of Rockwood, TN; his daughter Gail Neal (Lee Fisher "Fish") of Rockwood, TN; his grandchildren, Jason Crabtree of Kingston, TN. and Annie Laurie Crosby of Ridgeland, MS.; his great grandchildren, Savannah Henes (Andrew) of Knoxville, TN, Elise Shultz, Kiley Shultz of Ridgeland, MS. and Jackson Crabtree of Oak Ridge, TN; his great great grandchildren, Mary Alice and Sofia Hernandez of Ridgeland, MS.; and his siblings, Judy Poteet, Wilma Trewhitt of Cleveland, TN, Paul Holmes and Franklin Holmes (Carrie) of Stockton, CA.
