He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar E. Powers and Rose Marie Sullins Powers; his wife Lela Elizabeth Edwards Powers; and his children, John Roger Powers and Pam E. Powers Rehman.

He is survived by: his son Dennis Neil Powers (Sheila Miller Powers) of Cleveland; his son-in-law Dwight Rehman of Harrison; and his granddaughter Anna Paulette Brazzell of Chattanooga. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
