She was predeceased by: her parents, C. B. Toomey and Nola Toomey; her former husband Clarence M. Bowers; her husband James Robert Dye; her son Steven D. Bowers; her brothers, Larry Toomey and Jerry Toomey; her stepdaughter Elizabeth Cross; her daughter-in-law Delores VanAllman Bowers; and her siblings-in-law, Earnest and Hattie Reagan Bowers.
She is survived by: her son Alan Bowers (Lisa); her daughter-in-law Teresa Bowers; her grandchildren, Heather Bowers Burk (Don), Hiedi Bowers Adams (Jacob), Holly Bowers Cooper (Chaffie), Brittany Bowers Hays (Stephen), Sarah Bowers Risenhoover (Matt) and Ryan Dempsey (Dee); her siblings, Sandra Gibson, Sylvia Johnson and David Toomey (Ann); and her stepdaughter Ruby Cross. She is also survived by several great grandchildren.
In 1995 she donated a kidney to her youngest son, Steven, due to a polycystic kidney disease.
