She was predeceased by: her parents, Verna Tate Hicks and John Alvin Hicks; her daughter Angela Anderson; her granddaughter Anissa Marie Curry; and her sister Opal Parnell.

She is survived by: her daughter Wyvonna Hawkins Marian; her husband Dr. Eugene C. Garner; her daughter Tweela Shea McLean (Don); her grandchildren, Austin Anderson, Dustin Hixson (Tracy), Neely McLean Ledford (Brad), Shade Marian Gibson McLean and Tiffanie Jean Cryer (Justin); her great grandchildren, Malachai Curry, Austin Hixson, Paige Hixson, Bryce Hixson, Cori Ledford and Brooks Ledford; her siblings, Bonnie Hardin, Nettie Jones and Jim Hicks; and her children, Allan Hawkins, Randy, Betty Fox and Larry Godfrey. She is also survived by three great-great-grandchildren.

In her prayer's, Alzheimer's took a back seat, and her Lord took the reins.
