He was predeceased by: his father Frank Burgess; his wife Sharon Champion Burgess; his daughter Casey Burgess; and his brother Frank Burgess, III. He is survived by: his daughter Kristan Burgess; his siblings, Lynn Partenberry (Jerry), Jeffrey Burgess and Kent Burgess; his grandchildren, Khandra Tenorio (Jason), Haiden Bolton and Ari Gordon; his great grandchild Aurora DiCola; his daughter Amanda Hampton; his close friend Eddie Hampton; and his pet Molly.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in honor of his late wife or the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in honor of his youngest daughter.
