It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nellie Mae Black of Cleveland, Tennessee, who passed away on March 5, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William "Bill" Stephen and Blanche Opal Tanner (Milburn); her husband John E. Black; her daughters, Linda and Glenda; her sisters, Agnus Murphy, Gladys McNew and Mabel Clements; her son-in-law Lynn Hancock; and her siblings-in-law, Lola Wold, David Black and Paul Black.

She is survived by: her children, Janet Black Hancock of Pampa, John Stephen Black (Polly) of Cleveland, Patsy Black Perronie (Robert) of Louisville and Lisa Black Patton (Buddy) of Buckeye, Arizona; her grandchildren, Jamisen Hancock (Brooke), Lynnsee Hancock Green (Matt), Jansen Hancock (Abby), John Tyler Black (Brittany), Abby Black Stilwell (Matt), Jacquelynn Stone Ingle (Chris) and Stephanee Stone Sheets (Lonnie); and her siblings-in-law, Barbara Hammonds, Nina Gibbons (Gene), Phyllis Ferrell and Sam Black. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
