He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Murray and Hazel Murray; and his brother William "Allen" Murray. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Wilson Murray; his daughter Penny Au (Mitch); his granddaughter Caroline Au; his brothers, Howard Murray of Heber Springs, AR and David Murray (Debbie) of Sneeds Ferry, NC; and his sister-in-law Terri Williams Murray of Cleveland, TN.

In lieu of plants or flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his honor to Hospice of Chattanooga.
