He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Roettger and Margaret Roettger; and his sister Marilyn Steryk. He is survived by: his wife Juanita Burress Roettger; his siblings, Michael Roettger (Ruth), Kathryn Johnson (Frank) and Barbara Linn; and his stepchildren, Kathy Pemberton (Bill), Scott Burress and Sheree Long (Walter).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
