She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Duty Holt and Tallie Holt, Sr.; and her brothers, Russell Holt and Tallie Holt, Jr.. She is survived by: her siblings, Jim Duty (Mary), Charles Duty, Rachael Henderson (David), Linda Bass (Albert) and Eleanor Pullen; her daughter Lauren Elizabeth Garner; her grandson Curtis "CJ" James Cockrum; and her caregivers, Julie, Elaine and Janet. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
