He was predeceased by: his parents, Silas Yawn and Bernice Yawn; his wife Madeline Yawn; and his sister Hilda Shepard. He is survived by: his sons, Brian Yawn and John Jeffery Yawn; his brothers, Tommy Yawn and Donny Yawn; and his grandchildren, Brian "Joey" Yawn, Brandon Yawn, Jacqueline Archer, Madeline Yawn and Carlie Daugherty. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren; and several nieces, and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery (2200 E Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920).
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
