He was predeceased by: his parents, Steward Melvon Gibson and Lucy Wright Gibson; and his siblings, J. W. Gibson (Edna), Maeola Donahue (J. C.) and Betty Whaley (Wayman).
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Gibson; his children, Wesley Gibson (Elizabeth), James May (Wendy) and Melody Carroll; his grandchildren, Kate, Claire Gibson, Lucas, Lora May, Kayla Carroll (Chris Gardner) and Daniel Carroll (Stephanie); his great grandchildren, Layne, Emerie and Ollie; his siblings, Jerelene Perryman and Jim Gibson (Patricia); and his pet Jake.
