We announce the death of James Edward Hester in Collierville, Tennessee, who passed away on October 27, 2026, at the age of 82. James Edward will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Hester and Juanita Hester; his family Nancy Loyd; his wife Marilyn Ferguson; and his brother Lawrence Lee Hester (Barbara).

He is survived by: his sister Joyce Herthel; his daughters, Jennifer Cockroft (Scott) and Jamie Moncrief (Michael); his stepson Scott Ferguson (Chris Walsh); and his grandchildren, Lyndsey Hedger (David), Kelly Albert (Brandon), James Cockroft (Sara), Jessie Stewart, Troy Moncrief (Courtney), Amie Moncrief, Kelly Hart (Sean) and Alexis Ferguson. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.
